Delete your Oona account
Last updated July 2026
You can permanently delete your account and data yourself, right inside Oona — or ask us to do it for you.
Delete it yourself (fastest)
- Sign in to Oona (the app or oona.co.nz).
- Open Settings → Account → Delete my account.
- Review what will be removed, tick the confirmation, and confirm.
If you're the only grown-up in your household, the entire household is deleted with you: every list, calendar event, chore, photo, message, and any child profiles. Any active Oona Plus subscription is cancelled at the same time. If other grown-ups share your household, it keeps going without you — only your own profile and sign-in are removed.
Or ask us to do it
Email privacy@oona.co.nz from the address you signed up with and we'll delete your account and confirm once it's done.
What's deleted, and what's kept
- Deleted immediately: your sign-in, profile, notifications and devices — plus your whole household's content and uploaded files when you're its last grown-up.
- Kids' profiles: removed by a parent from Family members, or deleted along with the household.
- Kept briefly: routine encrypted backups age out automatically, and we keep basic billing records where tax law requires it.
Deletion is permanent — there's no undo and no grace period. If you only want a break, signing out costs nothing.
