Ask Oona is a friendly assistant built into the app, ready to help with the little things family life throws at you. You'll find it under More, then Assistant.
What you can ask
The assistant is good for open-ended, everyday help, such as:
- Dinner ideas when the fridge looks bare.
- A plan for a rainy day with the kids.
- Help thinking something through, like a weekend or a tricky week.
Just type your question and Oona replies in a chat, the same way you'd message a helpful friend.
How it works
The assistant is powered by Google Gemini. Like any AI, it can sometimes get things wrong, so use your own judgement on anything that matters. It's a helpful starting point, not the last word.
Your family's privacy
Your family's content is never used to train AI. The assistant is there to help your household, and what you share stays yours.
Free and Plus
Free households get a monthly message allowance, around 15 messages, which is plenty for the occasional hand. If your family leans on the assistant more often, Oona Plus unlocks unlimited messages for everyone in your home. A parent can upgrade from More, then Settings, under Plan.
